Nokia N96 Coming to North America

Nokia N96 Coming to North America

Nokia today announced its sleek N96 multimedia phone will be available in North America starting the fourth quarter of 2008.

Users can explore, purchase and download movies, television shows and video content on PCs and sideload them to watch. The 16 GB internal memory and expandable memory card slot allows up to 40 hours of video content. A built-in "kick stand" supports it handsfree at an optimal viewing angle.

The N96 offers a 5.0-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, integrated Wi-Fi support and assisted-GPS navigation. Users can use one-click uploading of images, videos and other content using the Share on Ovi service. Nokia Maps 2.0 delivers turn-by-turn diections for both automotive and pedestrian navigation. N-Gage lets players across the country compete in games. Along with the Asphalt 3: Street Rules, trial versions of four other popular N-Gage titles are preinstalled.

"The Nokia N96 builds upon this tradition to bring mobility to today's most valuable Internet services," said Bill Plummer, Vice President of Nokia Americas. "With support for movies, music, games, navigation and more right out of the box, the real power of the Nokia N96 is that it provides an open application environment for users to define their own mobile lifestyle."

The Nokia N96 with North American 3G support is expected to be available during the fourth quarter of 2008 for an estimated price of $895
