Nokia E62 Review

Nokia E62 Review

Residents in the United States have been waiting quite a long time for Nokia to bring its E series back to the area. However, the wait is finally over with the arrival of the Nokia E62. Similar to its European/global counterpart, also known as the Nokia E61, the Nokia E62 is not only powerful, but is a smartphone that offers a wide array of features, and also superb call quality.

The Nokia E62's slim design, as well as its QWERTY keyboard, has it bearing a close resemblance to both the RIM BlackBerry 8700 series, as well as the Motorola Q. It's silver casing is quite attractive, and also makes it a perfect phone for anyone in the business world looking for a sleek and impressive design. It measures a mere 4.6 x 2.7 x 0.5 inches, and weighs in at only 5 ounces. It may be a little bigger than the Motorola Q, and may take a little time to get used to, but it is well worth it. Three buttons are located on the phone's left spine. There, users will find the Volume Up button, the Volume Down button, and also the Voice Record button. However, no buttons are located on the phone's right side, which can make it a little difficult to use with only one hand. The screen located on the Nokia E62 measures in at 2.8 inches. Not only is it large, but it is also bright, featuring a 16 million color output and 320 x 240 pixel resolution. Both images and text look wonderful on the screen. And it can also still be easily seen in the brightest of light. If the user so chooses, he or she can adjust both the screen's contrast and backlighting. The screen, however, isn't a touch screen. So potential users may want to keep this fact in mind when shopping for a new mobile phone. But, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. All commands entered into the Nokia E62 can be done through the navigation buttons located below the screen, as well as through the complete QWERTY keyboard. The buttons found on the phone are the right and left selection keys, End and Talk buttons, a shortcut to the Menu, a key to launch email, and also a four-way joystick that also operates as the OK key when pressed. All the controls on the phone are space well and are easy to use, even for users with larger fingers.
