Motorola RAZR2-V9m Review

Motorola RAZR2-V9m Review

Chances are that you've heard of the Motorola RAZR at some point or another. The phone was the hottest item on the cellular market for several years. While not the best phone, not the most impressive in terms of features – it was certainly user friendly and stylish. Now, the Motorola RAZR2-V9m continues that tradition of offering a phone that is hugely attractive and easy to use while providing enough technology to rival many other phones on the market.

The Motorola RAZR2-V9m is the CDMA version of the RAZR2 from Motorola. This device is designed to be used in America only, so if you are looking for a phone that can be used on a GSM network (and possibly throughout the world), you will want to look into the Motorola RAZR2-V9 instead. As is the case with almost all modern CDMA phones, the Motorola RAZR2-V9m offers 3G support via the EVDO rev. 0 high speed data network.

Although small, thin, and light are the hallmarks of the RAZR2 family of phones, the Motorola RAZR2-V9m is not actually the smallest, thinnest, or the lightest phone on the market. Measuring in at approximately four inches by two inches by half an inch and weighing 117 grams, the Motorola RAZR2-V9m is certainly tiny, but there are phones out there which are smaller. Furthermore, in order to shrink the Motorola RAZR2-V9m to such a small size, a smaller battery had to be included. Expect to get 220 minutes of talk time and 290 hours of standby time out of the new Motorola RAZR2-V9m.

The Motorola RAZR2-V9m features a rather poor LCD screen which is only capable of displaying 65 thousand colors. That's quite a difference from competitively priced Nokia phones with their 16 million color screens. However, the Motorola RAZR2-V9m does feature an impressive external LCD screen which is approximately the same as the screen used on the inside of the phone.

Other features built into the Motorola RAZR2-V9m include a 2.0 Megapixel digital camera with four times digital zoom, a music and video player which can support a variety of formats, expandable memory via microSD, Bluetooth (although it is 1.2 instead of 2.0), GPS support, a speakerphone, and a variety of voice dialing options.
