Motorola Q9m Review
What happens when the amazing design team employed by Motorola is tasked to create a business caliber smart phone? You end up with the Motorola Q9m, a smart phone that is attractive enough for the high fashion types, high tech enough for the tech junkies, and contains an excellent core set of features that any corporate type would love to get their hands on. The Motorola Q9m is one of those phones that has taken the best parts from a variety of devices, creating one heck of a super smart phone.
The Motorola Q9m is a dual band CDMA phone, so you will only be able to find use for it in the United States. This is unfortunate, as a business traveler could really find a lot of use for this phone, but it is inherently tied to the United States by Verizon's choice of network. However, the Motorola Q9m is a 3G capable phone, so it does have very fast uploading and downloading speeds, even though its marketplace is somewhat limited.
While not gigantic, the Motorola Q9m is a hefty device. Weighing in at 135 grams and measuring approximately four and a half inches by two and a half inches by half an inch, this phone will be noticeable on you when you carry it around. Perfect size for a briefcase, coat pocket, backpack, or messenger bag, the Motorola Q9m may be somewhat large for everyday carrying purposes.
Even though the size of the phone is somewhat large, the Motorola Motorola Q9m only manages to squeeze four and half hours of talk time and 212 hours of stand by time out of the battery. While this is pretty good for such a high tech device, it is not long enough for business travelers who need to be tethered to their phones on long trips.
As for gadgets and gizmos, the Motorola Motorola Q9m is loaded with them. There is a large (but unspectacular) color screen, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with eight times digital zoom, a video and music player, expandable memory via mini SD, GPS capabilit,y and a full QWERTY keyboard. Top it all off with Windows Mobile and you've got a device with a lot of oomph behind it.
