 Motorola Q Review

The Motorola Q has a great email client, the basic POP3/IMAP. If using Verizon as the plan's provider, users will also find that a Wireless Sync email option is provided. In order to read attachments sent with a particular email, you can easily to do by using the provided Picsel Viewer. This application is perfect when it comes to displaying even the most complex PDFs and Microsoft Office Documents. However, the only drawback is that you are not able to edit the documents you receive.

The Motorola Q is equipped with what seems like the standard 1.3 mega pixel camera. You can use this option to take fairly decent pictures, considering the mega pixel size. The pictures taken with the phone are clear and crisp, although some users may find a bit of a purple tinge slightly framing the picture. Users unfamiliar with the Motorola Q make find that it takes them a little while to get used to the phone's interface. When taking a picture, there is only a slight amount of a shutter delay. But, what could be hard to get used to, is that the phone has the tendency to freeze for a second or two after taking a picture. When the phone is in camcorder mode, users can take a fairly smooth video, 176 by 144, at only 10 frames per second.

There are some drawbacks that have been found while using the Motorola Q. Which, considering that no phone works smoothly and bug free, is no surprise. When exiting the Core Pocket Media player, the device can be prone to crashing. It can also take several tries before the Motorola Q recognizes the memory card. Another downfall for the phone is that its monthly plan packages can be a bit costly for the average person. If you plan to use Verizon, expect to pay the following: $79 per month for 450 minutes of usage; $109 per month for 1,350 minutes of usage; and $169 per month for a whopping 4,000 minutes of usage, which also includes extra features such as unlimited data, as well as in-network calls when they are placed during weekends and at night. Users can opt to add unlimited Q to any existing family plan for just $409 per month. Sprint does offer a little bit of a lower price for Verizon's $109 plan. They charge just $75 for a similar plan. But, there is good news for users who find that the Motorola Q lacks some basic options. Both Motorola and Verizon have stated that users could possibly use Wi-Fi through the phone's mini SD card slot. In addition, an update of the push email from the Microsoft Exchange servers is expected to come. Lastly, for an additional $15 per month added to any existing service plan, users will be able to use the Motorola Q as a laptop modem.
