HTC TyTN Review

HTC TyTN Review

The HTC TyTN is a full featured Pocket PC, with plenty of bells and whistles that you expect from a higher priced mobile device. The TyTN gives power users and professional users almost anything that you can ask for from a mobile device. It includes a PDA, Windows Mobile for Pocket PC 5 software, wifi capability, Bluetooth, a powerful processor, 2.0 mega pixel camera and a great looking package.

While the price is steep, retailing at over $500, it is a great all in one for any mobile warrior that needs all the features in order to leave their laptop at home, and with this device, you can do far more than just an ordinary PDA or basic mobile phone.

Most of the features worked well, however sometimes it was a little slow going. For instance, while the TyTN includes Wi-Fi capability, it can sometimes be difficult to configure and especially difficult to tell when you no longer have a connection to an AP.

On the other hand the Bluetooth onboard worked very well, seamlessly transferring and receiving data in a breeze. One of the strong points of the HTC TyTN is the extremely powerful processor with 400 MHz clock speed. This processor is twice as fast some of the other pocket PC's in the same category as the TyTN. There are also plenty of cool entertainment features including an MP3 player, 2.0 mega pixel camera and a very nice display screen that you can play many cool games on.

The HTC TyTN has a slide out QWERTY keyboard that was easy to use and access. It made sending text messages or emails a breeze.
