BlackBerry RIM Curve 8320 Review
There is not a great deal of difference between the BlackBerry RIM Curve 8320 and the previous 8300 model. The main difference is the addition of Wi-Fi with UMA to the 8320, which does help the unit to be an attractive option for one more section of the buying public. Fortunately, the series already has some great advantages, such as crisp sound clarity, stereo Bluetooth and a music player that is easy to use. The headphone jack makes it much easier to use all the audio functions even when there is a lot of noise around the immediate area.
From a practical point of view, the Curve 8320 does better with standby battery life. The standby ability is a respectable seventeen days, which is not the best in the industry, but not the worst by any means. In like manner, the active talk time is four hours, which is sufficient for most applications. Messaging and email is also a draw of the 8320, since the features are easy to use and reliable.
Pros
- Sound quality tends to be excellent, along with reception
- The trackball feature makes getting around the features much easier
- The data processor tends to move along at a respectable pace, unlike some models that tend to bog down from time to time.
Cons
- The browser that comes with the phone is pretty basic
- Software is also somewhat limited, but it is easy to add more
Final Word
As a good quality phone that is reliable and has at least a few bells and whistles, the Curve 8320 does provide a good bit of value for the price.
