Audiovox CDM-9100
The Audiovox CDM-9100 is a candy bar style phone that was originally a fairly sophisticated device when it was released in 2001. However, times changed and the phone stayed the same. Now, the Audiovox CDM-9100 is simply old tech that nobody would ever dream of using.
As a dual band CDMA phone, expect to only be able to use the Audiovox CDM-9100 in the United States. It also comes equipped with AMPS for analog roaming, but the analog networks are slowly being shut down across the country, so no luck using those.
The Audiovox CDM-9100 measures in at approximately five inches by two inches by one inch and weighs 108 grams. This is a phone that is relatively small and light, but not so small that you run the risk of losing it when you least expect it.
Powered by an old tech Li-Ion battery, the Audiovox CDM-9100 suffers from very short life on a full charge. Expect to only get 2.8 hours of talk time or 7 days of standby on a battery that has been filled to the brim.
The Audiovox CDM-9100 isn’t much to look at either. It only comes with a black and white display that is capable of displaying 7 lines of text.
Other features include: a phone book with capacity for 100 names, an alarm, a speaker phone, and pretty much everything you could have expected out of a phone released in 2001.
Pros
- Great for collectors of old electronics
Cons
- Terrible battery life
- No features to speak of
- Ugly
Overall
The Audiovox CDM-9100 was a fine phone when it was released. It’s unfortunate that time has not been good to this device. It lacks many of the features found in modern phones, even the ones you can get for free. Unless you are a used cell phone collector, it is advised that you stay away from the Audiovox CDM-9100 and spend your money elsewhere. Not even recommended as a phone to use should your main phone be damaged or run out of power.
