Audiovox CDM 8600
The Audiovox CDM 8600 is a flip phone for people to flip over. This hot phone promises a great connection coupled with amazing style. This phone has it all, voice dialing, internet, and GPS. As for entertainment, then it gets a little tricky, there are no games and it is not an MP3 player phone, it cannot play music for the entertainment of the phone user. For those who are looking to use the phone as a phone though, it is great.
The Audiovox CDM 8600 is a small flip-to-open style phone. The phone is only 3.27 inches by 1.65 inches by .8 inches with a weight of 3.17 ounces. There is almost nothing to the phone as far as size goes. This does hurt the battery a bit though, since there is only 2.5 hours max of talk time and 103 max hours of stand by. This is far less than the average phone.
There is a nice GPS system on the phone so that one can locate their position and find how to get to another position from there. This means that the only people who can get lost with this phone are the people who want to be lost. This phone also communicates in more than one language, English and Spanish. This means that those with a Hispanic background can use their native language to negotiate the phone. This phone also is able to identify the people who are calling and use separate ring tones per person. This makes it easy to identify whom the phone might be for and what the call might entail.
This phone can be used as a PDA. There is an address book, calculator, voice dialing and voice memos. This makes it very easy for the busy person to keep everything in order and get things done in a timely manner. There is even a speakerphone and a vibrate feature.
Pros
- Easy to use and easy to manage.
- The flip top makes it much more difficult to dial the wrong number or to activate the phone while it is in the pocket or purse of the individual.
- One can purchase games or other items to personalize the phone.
Cons
- The signal is not always good.
- The speakerphone is not loud enough.
- The construction is not as sturdy, as some would have hoped it would be.
- The battery life is very short.
- There is a five-second delay from the time one turns on the phone to the time that one is able to see the time and date on the face LCD screen.
- Faceplates are difficult to find for the phone.
Overall
For those who are looking for a phone, this is a great phone, provided no additional features are expected.
