Audiovox CDM-8300
The Audiovox CDM-8300 is a snazzy little phone that has a very basic handset but also has a speakerphone, which wins it top marks for people who spend a lot of time in their cars. The CDM-8300 weighs 4.2 ounces which is average for a cell phone and its dimensions are 4.6”H x 1.6”W x 0.6”D. It is considered to be a small, lightweight cell phone.
The technology of the CDM-8300 is of course, CDMA and its location-based services are E911. The phone book allows for 300 entries which are more than adequate for most cell phone users. The wireless data system is Bluetooth-enabled which pleases plenty of users. Bluetooth was not an essential for this cell phone but is a nice extra for those who wish to transfer data to or from their laptop (assuming it is Bluetooth-enabled as well) or for those who enjoy using a wireless headset.
As far as communications goes, the 8300 has a wireless data protocol of 3G and it has WAP as well as Fax. It contains a calculator and a voice memo/sound recorder. Messaging is very easy to do on this phone. It contains SMS as well as predictive text input. The talk time for the battery is 145 minutes while the stand by time is 145 hours. Two other features that are worthy for this cell phone include the SAR rating and the stopwatch function.
Pros
The Audiovox CDM-8300 has a couple of good points worth making note of, such as:
- A speakerphone
- Bluetooth-enabled wireless data system is impressive, depending on your needs
- Phone is small and compact
Cons
With good points come some bad points of the CDM-8300:
- Display menu layout is scattered and disorganized, and therefore confusing for some individuals
- Talk time of 145 minutes is not a great deal
- The stand by time of 145 hours is deemed insufficient by many users
