Photoshop.com comes to Mobile Phones
Photoshop CS4, Adobe has announced and made available it's latest "Photoshop" branded off-shoot, Adobe® Photoshop.com Mobile. Although the software is available now only for a very limited number of Windows Mobile phones (5 phones as the time this article was published) and as a beta product, Adobe nevertheless says that their new software is "the easiest way to upload, view, and share photos online from your Windows Mobile phone".
While Photoshop.com has developed into quite an attractive place to upload and store photos, especially because of the Adobe Photoshop Express product, it is a late starter - sites like Flickr have been providing photo sharing for years and now even social networking sites like Facebook have online photo storage pretensions - and native applications which ease photo uploading for Apple iPhones and BlackBerry phones (we previously reported on the native BlackBerry facebook application).
Adobe Photoshop.com Mobile is the easiest way to upload, view, and share your photos online from your phone. All you need is a supported Windows Mobile phone and your Photoshop.com account ID. Photoshop.com Mobile beta will be available as a free download in September.
Upload from the road
Have Photoshop.com Mobile upload photos from your phone to your Photoshop.com account as soon as you take them. You can store up to 5GB of photos there free. (Note: Photoshop.com Plus members get 20GB. Learn more)
It may be some time before Photoshop-like image-editing tools are available on a mobile device, but at least we are getting somewhere with Photoshop.com Mobile. The software is expected to be made available later this month.
